Message from Dr. Khoshaba

Greetings SoCo family,

As we stand on the eve of graduation, there is an unmistakable sense of excitement and pride resonating throughout SoCo. This special time of year brings together reflection, celebration, and anticipation as we prepare to honor the Class of 2026 and all they have accomplished during their time as Stallions. Whether it's seniors taking their final steps toward commencement, underclassmen looking ahead to their own future milestones, or staff reflecting on a year of growth and achievement, the positive energy throughout our building is truly contagious. It is a wonderful reminder of the strength of our school community and the bright futures that lie ahead for our students.

Student and Staff Belonging

Where Culture Comes to Life

Our Asian Night celebration was a vibrant mosaic of cultures, traditions, and stories that reflected the rich diversity of our school community. Students, families, and staff came together to enjoy authentic cuisine, captivating dance performances, and beautiful fashion showcases that highlighted the many cultures represented at South County. Each performance, dish, and cultural display added a unique piece to the evening, creating an experience that was both educational and inspiring. More than just an event, Asian Night served as a bridge that connected people through shared learning, appreciation, and celebration of the many cultures that help make our school so strong.

A Royal Return

One of the most extraordinary moments of the year, and unquestionably one of the most heartwarming experiences of my 29-year career in education, was watching our seniors who once walked the halls of Silverbrook Elementary return in their caps and gowns for a celebratory senior walk. The current Silverbrook students rolled out the red-carpet treatment, welcoming them like royalty with colorful handmade signs, spirited pom-pom waves, and thunderous cheers that echoed throughout the building. It was a true crowning achievement of the school year, as our graduates were reminded that once a Silverbrook student, always a Silverbrook student, while inspiring the next generation to dream big and follow in their footsteps.

We Hear You!

Our final Principal Feedback Forum meeting of the year was a true report card on success, as students thoughtfully reflected on the year's accomplishments while offering insightful ideas for continued growth. The group did an outstanding job summarizing the many wins we celebrated together, from school culture initiatives to student voice opportunities, and engaging in meaningful conversations about how we can make South County even stronger next year. Their maturity, honesty, and commitment to continuous improvement reminded me that some of the best school leaders in our building are sitting in our classrooms today.

The Recipe for Success

Mrs. Huffman’s Entrepreneurship class was treated to one of the most outstanding final presentations of the year as Peyton, Abbi, and Peyton showcased their innovative company, Fresh Fuel. These exceptional future businesswomen delivered a polished, persuasive, and highly professional presentation, clearly explaining how their groundbreaking concept could revolutionize the fast-food industry by offering healthier and more nutritious choices. Their creativity, confidence, and entrepreneurial vision were truly remarkable, making them some of the brightest and most promising young business leaders in the class.

School Culture:

Ready, Set, Graduate!

Our two graduation rehearsals were a tremendous success, proving that the Class of 2026 has this celebration down to a science. The events went off without a hitch as students demonstrated outstanding maturity, attentiveness, and pride while preparing for one of the most prestigious milestones of their educational journey. With every seat filled, every cue practiced, and every detail in place, our graduates are ready to march confidently across the stage and into their bright futures.

A Benchmark of Service

We extend our sincere gratitude to Ryan Charters for his outstanding Eagle Scout project, which has left a lasting impact on our school community. Ryan designed and built several beautiful tables and benches that will provide students with inviting spaces to gather, collaborate, and connect for years to come. His leadership, craftsmanship, and commitment to serving others exemplify the very best of the Stallion spirit, and we are grateful for the legacy he has created at South County.

Picnic Tables

As we celebrate the graduation of the Class of 2026, I wish all our seniors and their families a joyful and memorable commencement experience. While graduation marks an important milestone, our school year is not quite over, and we still have several days of learning, growth, and connection ahead of us. Let's finish the year with the same pride, purpose, and positivity that have defined our school community all year long, and as always, let's go out Standing Strong!

Have a wonderful week!

Medicine pick up

This is just a reminder to parents and guardians that all medication stored in the health room must be picked up no later than the student dismissal time (10:00am) on the last day of school (6/17/26). Medication left in the health room after that time will be destroyed.

We advise that those with diabetic or seizure emergency medications wait until your students' last day of school to pick up their medications in case of an emergency as we do not have back-ups available.

Parents are welcome to pick up other medications prior to 6/17/26, especially senior parents.

Students cannot pick up these medications themselves.
