Good afternoon Newington Forest Families,
It was a BUSY week in the Forest!
- First of all - SOL tests are finished! Thank you, Mrs. Betz, for being our Testing Coordinator and getting us ready, and through, this testing season! I appreciate all of our teachers for preparing the students, and of course, I am so proud of our students for showing up on time, using their strategies, and trying their best.
-
4th & 5th Grade Awards - It is a Newington Forest tradition to hold an awards ceremony to recognize the exceptional achievements of students in grades 4 and 5. All of the students supported and cheered each other on with respect and a positive attitude.
-
SCA Induction - What a beautiful ceremony to officially induct our incoming SCA Leaders for 2026-2027.
-
SCHS Senior Walk - It felt like everyone came back to the Forest for the Senior Walk in their caps and gowns! It was such a pleasure to see their faces in our school building again. Congratulations Class of 2026!
-
Band Spring Concert - Our Band students played wonderfully this week! I could tell they had a great time performing. Thank you, Mr. Holscher, for getting our students ready for this performance.
-
Field Day - It sure was a sweaty and fun day for grades K-2 today! Thank you to our Specialists for running the show, and for our parent volunteers for helping to make it an enjoyable day for everyone. Grades 3-6 get their field day next Wednesday.
Important Note: All medication stored in the health room must be picked up no later than the student dismissal time on the last day of school. Medication left in the health room after that time will be destroyed. It is school policy that medications must be picked up by the parent or guardian. Medication cannot be sent home with your student.
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.
Sincerely,
Angela Thompson Principal

2026 Senior Walk
 Congratulations, Seniors!
We had special visitors stop by our school this week - the graduating class of 2026! All students in grades K-6 were so excited to cheer on the graduating Seniors as they walked through the halls of NFES one more time before going on to the next great chapter in their lives. Once a Knight, Always a Knight!
