June 5, 2026

Happy Friday, Panthers!

The finish line is in sight—just 7 school days remain in the 2025–2026 school year!

A special congratulations to the South Lakes High School Class of 2026 as they celebrate their graduation today, June 5, 2026, and prepare to embark on their next chapter. We are incredibly proud of their accomplishments and wish them continued success!

As we close out another outstanding school year, we hope you will join us for our end-of-year celebrations and special events. These moments provide wonderful opportunities to recognize student achievements, celebrate growth, and reflect on a fantastic year together.

Important Health Room Reminder:
Any medication stored in the health room must be picked up by student dismissal on the last day of school, Wednesday, June 17, 2026.  Medications not collected by that time will be destroyed in accordance with school policy. Please note that all medications must be picked up by a parent or guardian.

Please remember: June 17, the last day of school, is an early-release day, and students will be dismissed at 12:15 p.m. Lunch will be served.

For your convenience, the remaining school-year events are listed below.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support throughout the school year. Let's make these final days memorable!

Course Request Changes- Rising 8th Graders Only

If you would like to request a change to your child’s 26-27 LHMS course selections, complete this LHMS Course Request Change form by Friday, June 12. This date has been extended to allow families to review their child’s 25-26 SOL scores and make changes based on that data. Elective course requests are not guaranteed, as they are dependent on availability. You may view your child’s current 26-27 course requests in ParentVUE under the ‘Course Request’ tab. Please contact your child’s LHMS counselor with any questions.

Social Emotional Learning with Second Step

In this week’s lesson, students learned how to build confidence by preparing their physical and emotional state and by observing others. Family conversation starter:  Tell your child about a time when you watched someone do something and it helped you feel more confident. Ask your child to describe one of the confidence-building strategies they learned about.
