The Fairfax County Continuum of Care is always encouraging new members to participate in the CoC. CoC membership is open to any organization or individual connected to Fairfax County that is also interested in preventing and ending homelessness in our community. It’s easy to become a member. Just fill out the new Continuum of Care membership form accessible online through the Fairfax County Continuum of Care Webpage. To both current and new members, if you have not yet registered as a member of the Fairfax County Continuum of Care, just go to Continuum of Care Webpage, scroll down to “Continuum of Care Membership”, and click on the "Fairfax County Continuum of Care Membership Form ". Then take just a few minutes to fill out the form. Please share this information with others and thank you for registering as a member of the Fairfax County Continuum of Care!
2026 HUD CoC Program Competition is Open
The US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) released the Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for the FY2026 HUD Continuum of Care (CoC) Program Competition on June 1, 2026. Detailed information regarding this national competition can be found here.
The Estimated Annual Renewal Demand (ARD) Amount Report for the FY2026 CoC Program Competition is not yet available. The Office to Prevent and End Homelessness will share details on new and renewal amounts when it is released by HUD. The Fairfax County Continuum of Care webpage will also be updated through the competition process with meeting information, application instructions and forms, and deadlines.
A full Continuum of Care Membership meeting, that will include information about CoC funding and renewals, will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, 9:30 am. See earlier article.
Fairfax County’s CoC encourages applications from all eligible applicants regardless of whether the entity is currently receiving HUD funding or has ever received CoC funding. For more information on the Fairfax County CoC Competition process keep watch out for future newsletters and frequently visit the County’s Continuum of Care webpage.
Attention all Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) recipients: On May 1, 2026, the HUD Exchange published new income limits for FY 2026. The new income limits for the Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) went into effect on June 1, 2026. The new income limits only apply when determining eligibility for homeless prevention programs and during re-certification for rapid rehousing assistance.

The HUD Exchange has created a tool, the CPD Calculator, to assist grantees with determining eligibility and assistance amounts for beneficiaries of CPD programs. The calculator performs income eligibility and assistance amount calculations for several CPD programs including the Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG).

Continuum of Care Board Meeting
The Continuum of Care (CoC) Board was developed to provide leadership in preventing and ending homelessness in the Fairfax-Falls Church community. The CoC Board acts on behalf of the "Continuum of Care", which is a partnership of representatives from organizations in the Fairfax-Falls Church community with an interest and role in serving people experiencing, or at-risk of, homelessness. The next Fairfax County Continuum of Care Board meeting will be held on June 24, 2026 at the Fairfax County Redevelopment and Housing Authority located at 3700 Pender Drive, Fairfax, VA in Room 102 starting at 7:00pm.
