The Middle School After-School Program office is conducting a survey of parents/ guardians to assess the quality and impact of the program. Below is a link for a quick survey about the Middle School After-School Program. The survey should take no longer than 5 minutes to complete.
Participating in the survey is voluntary. Individual responses will be kept confidential, and responses will be summarized at the school and division level.
The survey is an important component of the after-school program evaluation and is critical for future funding. The more responses we receive, the more valuable and reliable the data
Thank you for considering completing the survey and for your support of the MS after-school program. This survey will be open from June 8, 2026 through June 12, 2026.
FCPS Superintendent-Exempt Seal Number 26212.

You should exit the FCPS survey once the “Thank You for Completing this Survey” appears. The request to click on a second survey is not part of the Parent Survey. Thank you
Dear Katherine Johnson Middle School Community,
As we wrap up another school year, we want to take a moment to celebrate the success of our After-School Programs. Thanks to the enthusiasm of our students, the support of our families, and the dedication of our staff, this year has been one to remember.
Our Eagles didn’t just participate this year—they led the way. Here is a look at the remarkable impact of our program by the numbers:
2025–2026 After-School Impact Report
-
85% Student Reach: A staggering 1,121 out of 1,321 KJMS students actively participated in our after-school programs this year! To put that into perspective, our student reach outperformed the FCPS county average by nearly 10 percentage points.
-
Unrivaled Participation: Our campus was buzzing with energy every single afternoon. When adjusted for total student enrollment, KJMS generates more than double the weekly attendance volume of a typical FCPS middle school.
-
County-Wide Engagement Leader: We aren't just seeing students show up; we are seeing them commit. A student at KJMS is nearly twice as likely to become a high-frequency, deeply engaged participant than a student attending any other after-school program in FCPS.
-
Incredible Program Diversity: Reflecting our vibrant and diverse student community, KJMS delivered an amazing lineup of over 35 unique activities throughout the school year—ensuring there was a welcoming space for every interest, passion, and hobby.
Thank you to everyone who made this year such a success. Whether you create, compete, or collaborate, you made KJMS the place to be after the final bell.
Have a wonderful, safe summer, Eagles. We can’t wait to see what we achieve together next year!
The Katherine Johnson Middle School After-School Team
