We should not assume; however, that just because something is unexplainable by us, it is unexplainable.

Mama’s health had been gradually deteriorating. It had become routine for her to be transported by ambulance to the local emergency room each week. However, on this occasion, she required an extended stay at the hospital for observation. While we all dearly wished for her to be back home, it was a relief to know she was receiving round-the-clock care.

The day after her admittance, we had tickets for a Yankees night-game. My husband John and I decided that our two daughters needed a distraction from worrying about their great-grandmother, who played a large role in our family. She had been the pillar of our family, raising me due to my mother’s illness after my birth and caring for my daughters during their childhood.

Pets & More

Read our blog post: Your dog's fur is more than skin deep. (Smiling dog lying on a dirt clearing in front of sunlit trees.)

June 1 is National Skincare Day. When we think about skincare, we often focus on our own routines — but our pets need healthy skin, too. This National Skincare Day is the perfect time to shine a light on the important role nutrition plays in keeping your dog or cat’s skin healthy and their coat looking its best.

Just like humans, a pet’s skin serves as a protective barrier against the outside world. When their skin is healthy, it helps prevent irritation, dryness, and sensitivity. A soft, shiny coat isn’t just about appearance — it’s often a visible sign that your pet is feeling good from the inside out.

One of the most effective ways to support skin and coat health is through a balanced, nutrient-rich diet. Our recipes are crafted with carefully selected ingredients designed to nourish your pet through every stage of their life.

High-quality proteins help support strong hair growth, while essential fatty acids — like omega-6 and omega-3 — play a key role in maintaining skin hydration and promoting a shiny coat. Added vitamins and minerals, including vitamin E and zinc, contribute to overall skin health and help protect against environmental stressors.
