Westbound Interstate 70 was closed Wednesday morning for a crash in Jefferson County, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.

The mounting complaints about Joanna Landau, the agency’s new executive director, came to a head during a two-hour public meeting attended by more than 200 people late Friday afternoon.

The truck driver accused in a deadly crash on I-70 in west metro Denver fell asleep at the wheel, veered off the road and flipped perpendicular across the highway, causing four oncoming vehicles to crash, Wheat Ridge police said.

The crash ripped off the ride-share sedan’s rear door and threw the passenger from the car, according to the Aurora Police Department.

An argument turned fatal early Tuesday morning when a man was shot and killed at an apartment complex in west Aurora’s Sable Ridge neighborhood, police said.

A Denver man died after drifting into oncoming traffic and colliding with another driver in Adams County on Sunday, a crash that injured four others, according to the Colorado State Patrol.

Aurora firefighters responded to the apartment blaze in the 700 block of North Dillon Way just before 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, according to the fire department.
