Stronger Together
Dear Clearview Families,
It is hard to believe that the end of the academic year is just around the corner! From our vibrant Back2School Bonanza in August to our winter concerts, field trips, and daily classroom discoveries, this has been a year filled with growth, laughter, and learning.
We want to extend our deepest appreciation to you—our families. Your partnership, volunteer hours, and endless support at home are the backbone of our school community. We could not do this without you.
Have a wonderful long weekend and we will see you on Thursday,
Stephanie Almquist Joshua Redford Rachel Charlton
Principal Assistant Principal Assistant Principal
Students collaborate on STEAM and literacy activities, including LEGO building, cardboard design, robotics, and fifth grade celebrating Mrs. Almquest..
Volunteers Needed for Field Day
If you are interested in volunteering your time, we would appreciate it and, of course, your children would love it. Please send a message via Talking Points or email to Mrs. Cathy McCarron to volunteer.
Grades 4-6 volunteer time: 9:15-11:45 AM
Grades K-3 volunteer time: 12:40-3:15 PM
Please note that volunteers typically facilitate activities at one station that all classes visit and not travel station to station with their children. Also, please dress comfortably and consider bringing a water bottle, sunblock and/or a hat.
Please Check Your Student’s Lunch Balance
It’s a busy time of year, and we know many priorities are on your plate. As we approach the end of the school year, it is important to check your student’s MySchoolBucks account and pay any remaining school meal balance.
Families who earn less than 185% of the poverty level qualify for free and reduced-price meals (FRM). However, an application must be completed and submitted each school year to receive that benefit. The application for the 2026-27 school year will be available this summer.
If you have a current balance and think you may be eligible for free and reduced-price meals, please fill out the FRM application for the 2025-26 school year.
Lost and Found
This message is to remind you about our school’s lost and found procedures. Please check the lost and found area located in Clearview’s cafeteria as soon as possible to see if your child may be missing a jacket, sweater or even a lunch box.
All unclaimed items will be donated to a local charity on Tuesday, June 16th. Thank you for your support!
Attend Today, Achieve Tomorrow. We All Belong Here!
As we enter the final weeks of the school year, Fairfax County Public Schools appreciates your continued partnership in supporting your child’s success. Regular attendance plays an important role in helping students stay engaged in learning, maintain connections with their teachers and peers, and finish the school year strong.
Attending school consistently also helps students build valuable habits such as responsibility, perseverance, and daily routines that support success both in and out of the classroom.
Memorial Day Holiday
All schools and offices will be closed on Monday, May 25, for the Memorial Day holiday. Learn about the history of Memorial Day.
Teacher Work Day
Tuesday, May 26, is a teacher work day. There is no school for students.
Eid al-Adha Holiday
Eid al-Adha begins at sundown on Tuesday, May 26. Wednesday, May 27, is a holiday for Eid al-Adha and schools and offices are closed.
Eid al-Adha, or the “Feast of Sacrifice,” is the second of two main holidays celebrated in Islam. Muslims believe that Eid al-Adha signifies the willingness of the Prophet Ibrahim, known as Abraham in Christianity and Judaism, to sacrifice his son, Ismail, as ordered by Allah. It focuses on sacrifice, the pilgrimage to Mecca and giving to those less fortunate. Eid Mubarak to all who observe!
Jewish American Heritage Month
May is a national month of recognition of the history of Jewish contributions to American culture, acknowledging the diverse achievement of the Jewish community in the U.S.
Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month
People with ancestral roots in Asia and the islands of the Pacific have been integral to the story of America. In 1992, May was designated Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month to celebrate their heritage and contributions.Learn more about the heritage months, celebrations, and traditions celebrated in FCPS.
Mental Health Awareness Month
Mental Health Awareness Month is about more than awareness. It’s about showing up for one another. It provides a chance to stand with your community and show that no one struggles alone. Everyone is invited to speak up against mental health stigma. Learn more about Mental Health Awareness Month on the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) website.
Food Allergy Awareness Month
May is Food Allergy Awareness Month. The FCPS Office of Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) works to ensure every student has access to safe and nutritious school meals. Since 1 in 13 children in the U.S. has a food allergy, FNS works closely with families to provide reasonable meal accommodations for students whose medical needs affect what they can eat at school.
To support students appropriately and safely, families are asked to submit medical documentation to FNS from a U.S. licensed health care provider so we can tailor meals to each child’s needs.
Learn more about the documentation required and the steps to develop a safe menu for students.
