A Message from Principal Peterson
As we head into Memorial Day weekend, we pause to reflect and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. At Riverside, this recognition is especially meaningful as a proud Purple Star School with many military-connected students and families in our community.
Memorial Day can look different for each family. For some, it is a long weekend spent with loved ones. For others, it is a deeply personal time of remembrance and reflection. We are grateful for the sacrifices made by service members and their families, and we thank our military-connected students for the strength, resilience, and perspective they bring to our school community each day.

As we close out SOL testing and move into the final weeks of the school year, I continue to be proud of the care our students show for one another and the strong sense of belonging that makes Riverside special. Thank you for helping us create a school community where every child and family feels seen, valued, and supported. We wish all of our Riverside families a safe and meaningful Memorial Day weekend.
