Message from Ms. Briggs

Another busy week filled with field trips, our first grade musical performance, our orchestra performance at the School board Meeting and our final SOL tests!

We hope you have a wonderful long weekend and we look forward to seeing your students next Thursday.

Student Device Collection

All FCPS student devices will be collected prior to the end of the school year for inventory and repair over the summer in preparation for the 2026-27 school year.  Collection will take place during the school day on Monday, June 15.  All devices will be scanned into our system upon return, and you will receive a return receipt to your child’s FCPS Gmail account.

Students participating in ESY or an FCPS sponsored summer program that requires an FCPS device will take their current FCPS/SHES issued device and power supply home with them on the last day of school.  Parents/Guardians are responsible for transporting the student’s FCPS device to their respective ESY/FCPS summer program location.  All FCPS/SHES issued devices will need to be returned by the parent/guardian to SHES no later than Monday, August 3.

End of Year Medication Pickup

Please remember that all medication must be picked up by a parent no later than student dismissal time on the last day of school.  Please review the letter for more information.

The ABC Countdown...

Class Placements for 2026-2027

Our staff will be working on tentative class groupings this spring, with classroom assignments finalized in mid-August.  As we make these placements, we consider many factors including individual student information, teacher input, and social relationships. Every class will have a blend of children with diverse needs, personalities, and learning interests. Due to the many factors we must consider in creating classroom placements, including the staffing of our teachers, requests for a specific teacher will not be honored.

If you have information that you believe is pertinent to your child’s placement for next year, please complete this link  by Friday, May 22 for it to be taken into consideration. There is no need to complete the form if you do not have any information you would like us to consider.

If your child will NOT be attending Spring Hill ES or his/her base middle school next year, please email Ms. Kim at ykim1@fcps.edu.

Unfortunately, due to timelines, we are unable to accept survey input after May 22nd.  Thank you!

Please Check Your Student’s Lunch Balance

It’s a busy time of year, and we know many priorities are on your plate. As we approach the end of the school year, it is important to check your student’s MySchoolBucks account and pay any remaining school meal balance.

Free and Reduced-Price Meals

Families who earn less than 185% of the poverty level qualify for free and reduced-price meals (FRM). However, an application must be completed and submitted each school year to receive that benefit. The application for the 2026-27 school year will be available this summer.

If you have a current balance and think you may be eligible for free and reduced-price meals, please fill out the FRM application for the 2025-26 school year.
