Fire Alarm permits for Two-Way Communication Systems, Stairway Communication System, Fire Phone, and Heat Trace System
This notice is issued to advise all stakeholders that new fire alarm records have been added to ensure that the installation of specific life safety communication and support systems is properly permitted, documented, and covered under the fire alarm permit process.
These newly added records pertain to the following systems:
• Two-Way Emergency Communication System (FFALRM-TWCS)
• Stairway Communication System (FFALRM-SWCS)
• Fire Phone System (FFALRM-FPHN)
• Heat Trace System (when monitored or integrated with the fire alarm system) (FFALRM-HEAT)
These systems interface with the fire alarm infrastructure and, therefore, must be included in the official fire alarm record set. The added records ensure that each system is reviewed, permitted, and inspected to verify compliance with applicable codes and standards.
