Here’s a draft for the May 22 Administration message in your Hybla Valley Elementary newsletter:
Dear Hybla Valley Elementary Families,
As we head into the long weekend, we would like to wish all of our students, staff, and families a safe and happy Memorial Day weekend. We hope you enjoy this special time with family and friends.
Please remember the following upcoming school closures:
-
Monday, May 25 – No School (Memorial Day)
-
Tuesday, May 26 – No School (Teacher Workday)
-
Wednesday, May 27 – No School (Eid al-Adha)
We look forward to welcoming students back to school on Thursday, May 28.
With warmer weather arriving, we also want to remind families that students should continue to wear sneakers to school each day, especially on days they have Physical Education (PE). Sneakers help keep students safe and comfortable while participating in activities.
As we begin preparing for the end of the school year, please note these important dates:
-
Last Day of School for PreK Students: Tuesday, June 16
-
Last Day of School for K–6 Students: Wednesday, June 17
-
Wednesday, June 17 will be a 2-hour early release day for ALL students.
-
Dismissal will be at 2:05 PM.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support as we finish the school year strong!
Sincerely, Hybla Valley Elementary Administration
Join us for our Arts & Culture Night on June 11 from 5:00 PM–6:30 PM!
Participation is optional. If your family is interested in hosting a booth and making a poster like the one in the picture above, please complete this form: https://forms.gle/4EmgVdr7iSFw6xjVA.
Responses help us plan materials, including posters. Please request a poster by Friday, May 22. We have attached a picture of what a poster and booth could look like.
We hope to see you there!

At Hybla Valley Elementary, our primary goal is to foster an environment where every student can focus on their studies, build meaningful face-to-face friendships, and feel safe throughout the school day. To support this, we want to provide a friendly reminder regarding the Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) Student Rights and Responsibilities (SR&R) policy concerning personal devices.
