French service in stores remains a concern, Quebec’s language watchdog says — even after inspectors found nearly all businesses on three major commercial strips in Montreal, Laval and the South Shore could serve customers in French.
During visits to 958 stores between January and May 2025, inspectors found that French-language service was available in 98 per cent of them, The Gazette's Andy Riga reports.
