From Chicken Soup for the Soul: Being Grandma

Glam-ma: A woman whose children have had children but she is far too young, gorgeous and glamorous to be called Grandma. ~Author Unknown Our departure day had arrived! My husband and I packed up our bright blue SUV in Minneapolis and headed west to Washington State to see our youngest son and his family. Though Tom and I were thankful for phone calls and FaceTime visits with the kids and grandkids, they didn’t compare to the joy of seeing our loved ones in person. We felt like royalty when gleeful screams and giggles welcomed us. “Glamma! Grampa!” our three grands chimed in unison, then giggled more. Scooping up the kids for a squeeze, we soaked in the love, knowing they had been as lonesome for us as we had been for them. Our son Joe embraced us in a warm bear hug, and his wife Kiya, whom I fondly referred to as our daughter-in-love, joined in the welcome party. (Keep reading)
