Weekly Recap

As the regular season comes to a close, we also wrapped up our final round of Senior Night celebrations this week. These evenings have been a wonderful opportunity to recognize the dedication, leadership, and pride our senior student-athletes have brought to South County throughout their careers. This week we honored the seniors from our Track & Field program as well as our Softball team. We are grateful for everything these athletes have contributed to their teams and school community, and we look forward to seeing all they accomplish in the next chapter of their journeys.

Boys and Girls Lacrosse both competed in the district tournament this week and saw their seasons come to a close. While both teams finished 0-2 in postseason play, the growth shown throughout the season was evident, and both programs have plenty to be excited about moving forward.

Girls Soccer also wrapped up their season in district tournament play after dropping a pair of hard-fought games. The team battled all season long and remained competitive in nearly every matchup they played.

Boys Soccer has put together an exciting postseason run as the #6 seed in the district tournament. The Stallions opened with a huge 1-0 upset over #3 seed Lake Braddock before earning a dramatic 1-0 victory over Woodson on a second half penalty kick. The boys now advance to the district championship game where they will host Robinson on Tuesday at South County.

Baseball split their final regular season series with Robinson to secure the #7 seed heading into the district tournament. The Stallions closed the regular season in thrilling fashion with a 19-11 victory highlighted by a grand slam from Caden Behan in the sixth inning. South County now travels to Alexandria City on Monday to begin postseason play.

Softball also split with Robinson this week, finishing the regular season with a home victory to lock in the #4 seed for the district tournament. The Stallions will open postseason play at home Monday against West Potomac.

Good luck to all of our postseason teams as they continue representing South County with pride and determination.

Boosters Golf Tournament Tuesday

The South County Athletic Boosters invite you to the 19th Annual South County Golf Classic, taking place Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at Laurel Hill Golf Club in Lorton. This signature fundraising event brings together our Stallion community for a full day of golf, connection, and support of South County athletics. The tournament features a captain’s choice format with lunch, a shotgun start, on-course contests, and a post-round dinner. Proceeds from the event directly benefit all South County athletic programs, helping provide resources, equipment, and opportunities for our student-athletes. Golfers, sponsors, and supporters are all encouraged to get involved and help make a lasting impact on Stallion Nation.

Concession Stand Volunteers

Volunteers Needed — Support Our Sports Programs! Students and families are encouraged to sign up to volunteer at the concession stands during our home sporting events. This is a great opportunity for students to earn required volunteer hours while gaining valuable experience, and for families to directly support our athletic programs and student-athletes. Concessions play an important role in funding and sustaining our sports teams, and every shift makes a difference. Whether you can help for one game or multiple events, your time and support are greatly appreciated.
