How a weaker dollar is quietly making life more expensive

A hidden force is quietly pushing up costs for everything from your summer vacation to your weekly grocery bills: a weaker U.S. dollar. The dollar has fallen about 10% against other major currencies since President Donald Trump returned to the White House, a pullback potentially playing a role in Americans’ concerns about affordability. Trump has suggested a strong dollar puts the U.S. at a disadvantage and that a weak dollar helps American industry. Read more.

Trump officials show extraordinary defiance of court rulings

The Trump administration has been found in violation of court rulings in an extraordinary number of lawsuits on a broad set of issues. The Associated Press found at least 31 suits since last February in which a judge determined the administration was not complying with an order. These cases are in addition to more than 250 violations judges have recently highlighted in individual immigration petitions. The AP's review also shows higher courts have frequently overruled district courts and sided with the White House. Read more.

Summer Movie Guide 2026: Here’s what’s coming to theaters and streaming from May to August

Hollywood’s summer movie season is shaping up to be epic. There are superheroes, franchises and thrillers galore with many of the regulars on the lineup: “Spider-Man,” “Minions,” “Star Wars” and “Toy Story.” But the most eagerly anticipated is not a superhero, toy or franchise: It’s Christopher Nolan’s adaptation of “The Odyssey," out July 17.
