The whole ordeal began with a simple question: Were we going to be boat people or RV people? Our family had moved to Alaska and knew we wanted to spend as much time outside in this beautiful, wild land as possible. What we weren’t sure of was whether to invest in a boat or an RV. We decided to try both options by renting first.

We rented a drift boat for the upcoming Memorial Day weekend from MWR (Morale, Welfare and Recreation) at the local Air Force base where my husband worked. Our two-day trip included tent camping on an island, and the family looked forward to our grand adventure. (Keep reading)
