I thought I had a busy week ahead until I looked at the schedule for King Charles and Queen Camilla’s historic state visit. The royals landed yesterday at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland, kicking off a four-day trip hosted by President Donald Trump. First, it was off to tea with President Trump and first lady Melania Trump at the White House. Then, it was time for a tour of the South Lawn, where Charles and Melania were spotted sharing a laugh as they toured the gardens. There, King Charles, an avid supporter of beekeeping, checked out a new addition: a White House–shaped beehive. Finally, it was off to a garden party at the British ambassador’s residence, where more than 600 guests gathered to welcome the monarchs. And that was just Monday.
This afternoon, Charles addressed Congress. In a few hours, President Trump will host Charles and Camilla for a state dinner. Whew!
