If you’re lucky enough to find anything in life that gives you five seconds, let alone an hour of relief from life, you should try to do it forever.
~Jack Antonoff

I’ve always loved horses, but for years my riding took a back seat to my four kids’ soccer games, hockey practices, dance recitals, karate classes, and golf tournaments. Every year on April 30, National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day is celebrated. It's a day dedicated to helping pets in shelters find the loving homes they deserve.

At Chicken Soup for the Soul Pet Food, we believe dogs and cats deserve healthy, premium nutrition no matter what their circumstances. That’s why, through our Fill a Bowl… Feed a Soul® program, we provided over four million meals to shelter pets to date!

Here are ways that you can celebrate National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day:
 • Visit your local shelter and meet pets looking for homes
 • Consider fostering if you’re not ready to adopt
 • Donate food or supplies to a local animal shelter
 • Share adoptable pets on social media to help them find families

This National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day, consider opening your heart and your home to a pet in need.
