catch up

Ms. McCreery and a student work after school in our Catch Up Club!

Catch Up Club is our after school program available for all students. It is a great way for students to work on homework, complete overdue work, get help on assignments, take tests and quizzes, and complete community service hours. Transportation is not provided for the after school club, however we do have free public bus passes for all Bryant HS students. If your child needs a public bus pass, please have them ask for one in the Main Office.

A Message from the Principal

Greetings Bryant Families!

It is hard to believe that there are only 20 days left in this school year for our graduating Seniors! This coming week, we will have our Seniors take their SOLs beginning on Tuesday, April 28. It is important that students arrive on time so they can eat breakfast and get settled into school so they can perform at their best. I am excited to share that we will be able to offer our Seniors a class trip to Dave and Busters through a generous donation by Alice’s Kids. More information about the trip will be shared soon!

As I have shared in the past, one of our main goals is to have students attend school every day. Last year, 68% of our students were considered chronically absent, meaning the students missed 10% or more of the school year. As of today, 57.3% of our students are considered chronically absent. We are thrilled to have reduced chronic absenteeism by over 10.7% compared to this time last year! We are confident that, by working together, we can reach our final goal of 55% (or lower) by the end of the year. For more information about FCPS attendance please look at these resources.

Your child’s presence truly matters! If you or your student need any assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out to our staff at 703-660-2000 or email me at caconley1@fcps.edu. Thank you for your continued partnership and for supporting the Bryant High School community!

Take Care!

Cindy Conley

Principal

We want to extend a huge THANK YOU to Alice’s Kids for their incredibly generous $5,000 donation! Required Immunizations for Rising 7th and Rising 12th Graders

The following immunizations are required for students entering 12th grade each school year.

All students entering 12th grade are to receive two doses of the Meningococcal vaccine (MenACWY) prior to the beginning of school. To meet the MenACWY 12th grade requirement, one dose must be administered at age 16 or older.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to plan ahead by scheduling an appointment with your child’s health care provider now to avoid the rush this summer. Please consider getting your child’s immunizations early so that they can attend school in the fall. Summer is a busy time for families and healthcare providers. As long as your child meets the age requirements listed above, they can be immunized at any time.

Immunization Events for FCPS Students

FCPS, in partnership with Inspire Health Alliance, will provide school-required immunizations and optional flu shots for all FCPS students at no out-of-pocket cost. Multiple events will take place at designated FCPS locations.

Dates will be made available throughout the school year. Parents or guardians may view upcoming events and schedule an appointment for their student. Participation is voluntary. Additional immunization resources are also available.
