Atoms Athletics Booster Scholarship
Each year the Atoms Athletics Booster Club gives out two $1000 scholarships to our Atoms athletes. The scholarships goes to two senior student-athletes who plan to pursue further education after high school. The student-athletes must have a 3.0 grade point average and have played an Atoms Athletic Department recognized sport during their senior year. CLICK HERE to find the application.

Atoms Weekly Recap
Baseball impressive week at the plate in their three games picking up strong wins in each! They opened with a high-scoring 17-9 victory over district opponent Lewis on Tuesday evening, then edged Immanuel Christian 7-6 in a close contest. The week was capped off with the Atoms biggest win of the year the Atoms avenged an earlier season loss to get an 8-4 win over district foe Edison Friday evening! The Atoms looks to continue the hot streak as they host Justice Tuesday at Atoms Park.
Softball had a strong showing this week as they took on Lewis and Edison. Game 1 was a dominating performance as the Atoms took down Lewis with an impressive 25-4 victory on Tuesday. They followed up with a competitive game against Edison who had beat the Atoms 17-10 earlier this season. The Atoms battled throughout holding Edison from taking off but ultimately falling 9-5 in a tightly contested matchup. Next up is a home game vs Justice.
Boys Lacrosse played two district schools this past week vs Edison and Justice. The Atoms faced a perennial district power Monday, falling 13-2 to Edison. The Atoms bounced back with a much stronger performance on Friday, competing closely with Justice before coming up just short in a 7-5 loss. The Atoms travel to Falls Church Tuesday.
Girls Lacrosse faced a challenging week vs district opponents Edison, Lewis, and Justice. The Atoms dropped both contests to Edison and Justice on Monday and Friday, but the highlight was Wednesday evening vs Lewis. The Atoms got off the bus at Lewis and played a tightly contested game throughout as the Atoms and Lancers traded goals but ultimately saw the Atoms emerge victorious 6-4 for the district win. The Atoms host Falls Church Tuesday evening.
Boys Soccer played two district opponents this week. First was a home game with Edison in which the Atoms showed resilience in a thrilling 5-2 comeback victory over Edison. After falling behind 2-0 early, the team responded with energy, rallying to score five unanswered goals and secure the win. Game two of the week was a trip to Justice, that saw the Wolves take a bite out of the Atoms to get the 5-1 win. Next up is a varsity doubleheader vs Falls Church on Monday. JV plays Wednesday.
Girls Soccer had a competitive week vs two district teams. First up was a trip to Edison to take on the Eagles. A back and forth game saw the Atoms fall 3-2 to Edison on Tuesday in a hard-fought match. They bounced back on Thursday with a strong 2-0 victory over Justice, showing solid teamwork and defensive effort. The Atoms led 1-0 at the half and were able to sneak a second goal in the back of the net with just under 10 minutes to play. On the JV side, the team celebrated a milestone moment, earning their first win of the season with a 1-0 shutout over the Wolves. Varsity Atoms play the night cap of the varsity doubleheader Monday evening. JV plays Wednesday.
Boys Tennis took on Hayfield and Justice in their two matches this week. The young Atoms dropped both matches. The Hawks took care of business on Tuesday as they won 7-2. Match two was similar to Hayfield as the Wolves ran away with the win. Despite the results, the team continues to gain valuable experience and show growth as they compete and develop throughout the season. Next is a trip to Lewis Tuesday afternoon.
Girls Tennis showed great determination this week in their two matches and continue to position themselves to host a region team tennis match. First up was a match with Hayfield that saw the Atoms trail early only to rally to secure a 5-4 comeback victory over the Hawks on Tuesday. The momentum carried into Thursday’s matchup against Justice, where they competed in another tightly contested match but ultimately fell just short, 5-4. The Atoms return home Tuesday for senior night vs Lewis.
Outdoor Track & Field had a successful night Wednesday evening at Edison. The Atoms had several runners again achieve personal best times but in doing so, auto qualified for not only the district meet but for the region meet as well! The Atoms head to TJ as their final two meets of the season are head before the National District Championship looms.

Annandale High School Physical Night
On Monday, June 1, 2026 Annandale High School will host an opportunity for student athletes to receive a complete pre-participation VHSL physical exam (PPE) that will be valid for all sports for the 2026-27 academic year.
This event will serve as the primary fundraiser for the Annandale Athletic Training Program, which receives zero financial assistance to operate in terms of medical supplies and equipment – we thank you for your support and donation!
Appointments begin at 5:30pm and end at 7:30pm – appointments will fill quickly, so please do not delay! Walk-in exams are $60.00, BUT…

Looking for fun activities for your child this summer? Annandale High School is offering a variety of summer camps this year for current elementary and middle school students led by our own Annandale coaches. Help spread the word to friends, family and neighbors! More information on signups upcoming!

Camp Information

Olympics Camp - Rising 2nd-9th Graders - June 22-26th 8:30am-3pm ($150): Campers will have fun playing a variety of sports including basketball, kickball, volleyball, soccer, and touch football. They will participate in fun contests and win medals! Campers can bring their lunch or purchase lunch at camp. To register for Olympics Camps, click HERE. Volleyball Camp - Rising 3rd-9th Graders - June 29- July 2 ($120): Campers will spend each day focused on developing their volleyball skills and playing small sided games. Campers will work on improvement and understanding how to play volleyball. Campers will have a 30 minute break from 11:00-11:30am for snacks or eat lunch. Campers should bring their own snack/lunch or purchase items at camp. Hours are 9:00am-1:30pm. To register for Volleyball Camp, click HERE. Wrestling – K-12 - July 6-10 ($295): Annandale is hosting a 5-day camp with Purler Wrestling Academy! Open to ALL Wrestlers age 7-18; THERE ARE ONLY 100 SLOTS! It is recommended that your child pack their lunch; however, the concession stand will be open during both breaks and will be selling pizza and other items.
Participants will get 20 Hours of Drill time and 40 Matches worth of live competition. These small-group, drill-intensive camps have a proven track record! Camp includes FREE access to the Purler Wrestling Video Series for all those that complete camp ($200 value)!
Purler Wrestling Academy began with Nick Purler whose career highlights include a #1 rank in the country at his weight class; he is the 1994 NCAA All-American, Big 12 Champion, U.S. Open All-American, University Nationals Finalist, Olympic Sports Festival Champion, and was part of three National Championship teams.

Boys & Girls Basketball - Rising 3rd-9th Graders - July 20-24th 9am-4pm ($250): Campers will spend each day focused on developing their basketball skills. They will also receive a t-shirt and a chance to win trophies. Campers can bring their lunch or purchase lunch at camp. Hours are 9am to 3pm. We accept early pickups at 8am and late pickups at 4PM. Baseball Skills Camp- Aug 10-14 5pm-7pm ($100, or $25 a day)
This camp is designed for 3rd - 9th graders and will be held on the baseball field at Annandale High. Focus will be on preparation for fall season and overall skill development. New Athletic/Activity Registration
Returning Athletes: ALL Families will need to create a NEW ACCOUNT. ONE account per family, where you will be able to register multiple students. Your previous log-in will not work, you must create a new one. Once you create your new account, log-in and register your student for this year.
New Athletes: Please create an account and register for the 2025-2026 school year. You can register for as many sports as you wish.

VHSL Physical Updated Information for 2025-2026
Legislation introduced in the Virginia General Assembly and recently signed into law will result in two significant changes to the athletic pre-participation examination (physical) requirements for FCPS student-athletes:
- Beginning July 1, 2025, athletic physicals will be considered valid for a period of 14 months from the date the form is signed by the medical provider completing the exam. This is the date on page 3 of the VHSL Athletic Participation/Parent Consent/Physical Examination Form (revised January 2021).
- Beginning May 1, 2025, FCPS student-athletes are EXPECTED to have athletic physicals completed on the new VHSL Athletic Participation/Parental Consent/Evaluation Form (revised April 2025).
New VHSL Transfer Information
ALL TRANSFER STUDENTS by default are INELIGIBLE. More information can be found on the FCPS Website.
The NEW Guardian application process must be started before the transfer students is considered "bona fide".
ALL Transfer students must complete the Guardian application process to be declared eligible.
NO TRANSFER IS ELIGIBLE UNTIL THERE IS NOTICE FROM THE GUARDIAN SYSTEM THAT INCLUDES A VHSL CITATION AND POST SEASON ELIGIBILITY.
