It was a competitive week across the board for our Stallions, with several teams battling through tough matchups and showing resilience.
Baseball and Softball both faced strong West Springfield squads, going 0-2 on the week. Despite the results, both teams continue to compete and gain valuable experience against high-level opponents.
Boys Tennis dropped a close match to West Potomac but bounced back in a big way with a strong win over Lake Braddock. Girls Tennis picked up their first district win of the season against West Potomac, then came up just short in a 4-5 nail-biter against Braddock.
Boys Lacrosse showed flashes of strong play this week. They started well against Woodson before fading in the second half, and then nearly completed an impressive comeback against Alexandria City after trailing 6-0 at halftime, ultimately falling 7-5. Girls Lacrosse also battled tough competition, falling to Woodson before playing an intense, back-and-forth game against Alexandria City. The match was tied 15-15 at the end of regulation before AC scored early in overtime.
Boys Soccer earned a solid district win over Woodson and followed it up with a 3-3 draw against Forest Park. Girls Soccer had an outstanding week, securing two wins with a 2-0 victory over Woodson and a dominant 7-1 performance against Forest Park.
Crew competed in the Ryz Obuchowicz Regatta on Saturday and delivered a strong showing across the board. The Women’s Novice 8 brought home a first-place finish in their classification, while the Men’s Junior 8 earned a third-place finish.
Great effort by all of our Stallion teams this week as we continue to build, compete, and represent South County with pride.
