Dear Iza,
I've been feeling back in my
skin again.
You know how, in relationships, whether romantic,
friendships, or even work, we can subtly start to change who we are to fit
the dynamic?
Sometimes those shifts are small. Sometimes they're
even positive. But sometimes… they come at the expense of who
we really are.
We hold back our opinions because we don't want
to rock the boat. We stay quiet even when we have something valuable
to say. We put others first and hope someone notices. We blend
into the background instead of standing out. We wait instead of asking
for what we actually want.
I can see now that this has been a
pattern of mine.
And even though I consider myself a strong,
confident woman, I can still find myself slowly diminishing who I am
without even realizing it.
That awareness has been my work these
past few weeks.
Coming back to myself. Getting clear on who
I am… What I value… And how I want to show up in
the world.
And honestly?
I've loved this process.
