In a rotation fronted by Garrett Crochet and also featuring Sonny Gray and Ranger Suarez, it is righthander Brayan Bello who owns the longest start of any Red Sox pitcher on the young season.
He tossed 6⅔ innings on Sunday in a 9-3 win over the Cardinals. That is one out more than Crochet and Gray recorded on consecutive days last week.
“When I’m staying in the zone, this is the result that you get,” Bello said through an interpreter. “When I’m executing all of my pitches, being aggressive in the zone, this is what happens.”
