Anthropic has announced that its new AI model, Mythos, has found vulnerabilities in nearly every major computing operating system in use. The company has an incentive to mythologise Mythos, but its claims are worth taking seriously. Markets and oil prices have enjoyed a sigh of relief at the ceasefire between America and Iran. But the physical and psychological damage will take time to fix: for infrastructure to come back online, and traders to figure out how to price new risk. If there’s a bright side, it’s that this may be a rough shove for countries to modernise energy supplies, as the oil shocks of the 1970s were.
