Home care is quickly becoming the next NDIS.

In the latest shocking development since the federal government rolled out its aged care reforms, it can be revealed that older Australians are being slugged $120 for a pack of seven Lite n' Easy smoothies. If you ordered them directly it would cost less than $20. This is not just a massive rip-off for vulnerable Aussies needing support, it is also rorting taxpayer money.

On top of that, some dodgy home care providers are charging people $180 for a shower and $66 for soup, a main and a dessert — the same or more than eating out at a restaurant. After launching a special 'Care Repair' campaign to fix the issues, Social Affairs Editor Julie Cross reported that 100 MPs across the Liberals, Nationals, One Nation, Greens and independents had joined forces to demand urgent action over the mess.

It’s clear from you all writing in to health@news.com.au with your thoughts on this issue over the past few weeks that you are all outraged and something needs to be done.

Until next week.
