Even before airing its finale at the end of last week, Love Story had smashed records for FX, becoming the network’s most-watched limited series ever on Disney+ and Hulu—logging more than 25 million hours viewed and counting. “When people start dressing their dogs like your characters, you feel like you really hit the jackpot,” says executive producer Nina Jacobson. She and executive producer Brad Simpson had a long chat with Chris Murphy about how they chose to end the series, from why the finale is structured the way it is—half focused on Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy and John F. Kennedy Jr., half focused on their survivors—to how they hope the real-life families of their main characters will respond to the series.
