Hello there, Tor here, writing to you on my way back from an amazing 2-week fishing trip to the arctic with my dad. This trip reminded me of something important: Just because it's colder at your destination, that doesn't mean that you have to bring a big suitcase! How?We were primarily going to be spending the trip fishing from my dads boat (which he shipped up ahead of time). So I knew very well ahead of time exactly what I'd need for the trip, so planned out clothes and gear, and then I packed it all in my standard carry-on only bag. Here are some of my favorite photos from the trip: Check out the little plane we flew on for the second leg of our trip up to Lofoten! It's the smallest plane I've been on. Have you ever been on such a plane before? I have a lot more cool photos and tons of video too that I recorded, but I'll share more on the YouTube channels in the future as I want to keep this update from becoming way too long haha. So how was I able to go out in the roughest conditions in Norway for two weeks with just a little bag? PLANNING AND LAYERING ... and wearing the bulkiest clothes onto the flights. Once you learn how to layer clothes, it opens up to traveling anywhere with just a tiny bag on your back. Instead of a lot of bulky standalone pieces, I brought a few big ones (like my winter jacket), and the rest was mostly thiner layers so I could easily adjust depending on the temperature and weather that day.
If you've never packed like this, try it. You can stay warm, prepared, and comfortable without your bag being packed to the brim. That is exactly what most people want anyway... Plans for the futureI've already traveled A LOT this year, first to Thailand for dental work, and Philippines for a month-long motorcycle trip, and now to the Arctic (Lofoten and Finnmark in Norway) for fishing.
