Engagement Update: Feedback from Arlington's Transportation Future

Phase 3 of engagement (fall 2025) gathered feedback on three draft elements:

  1. Policies supporting the endorsed Vision and Goals
  2. Modal Priority Networks
  3. Proposed uses of the curb lane in different neighborhood types.

Phase 3 continued this work using both in-person and online methods, focusing on meeting people where they are, providing geographically distributed events, ensuring language access, and providing multiple ways for people to share meaningful feedback.

Arlington County Resident Satisfaction Survey

Arlington County is conducting the 2026 Resident Satisfaction Survey to gather feedback on County services, programs, and overall quality of life. Resident input will help inform County priorities, decision-making, and future planning. The survey is voluntary and confidential and is open to all Arlington County residents. The survey will be open online until March 31, 2026.


Custis Trail East Milling and Repaving Project – Work Planned in March-April 2026

Crews from the Arlington County Department of Parks and Recreation will begin milling and repaving work on three eastern segments of the Custis Trail beginning on or about March 30 to improve ease of access and overall trail conditions. The trail will be closed and trail users will need to use alternative routes.

 

Location: North Oak Street to North Lincoln Street

Dates (weather permitting, schedule subject to change):

  • March 30 - April 3, 2026: N Oak St to 21st St N (near Mom's Organic Market)
  • April 6-13: N Lincoln St (Hayes Park) to Langston Blvd (Lyon Village)
  • April 13-15: Langston Blvd (Lyon Village) to 21st St N (near Mom's Organic Market)

Give Your Feedback on Regional Transit Projects

Commuter Choice 2026 - Engagement

The public comment period for the Northern Virginia Transportation Commission's I-66 FY 2027-2028 Commuter Choice funding program is now open.

 

The NVTC wants your feedback on the 14 projects under funding consideration, which represent transit improvements proposed by Arlington County, Fairfax County, Loudoun County, OmniRide, and WMATA. The proposed projects include enhancements to existing bus service, new bus routes, and rail station improvements.

How to Submit Your Feedback by April 3

There are three easy ways that members of the public can submit comments on the projects under consideration for funding:

The public comment period will close on April 3, and all comments received will be shared with NVTC Commissioners who will take final action approving the I-66 FY 2027-2028 Program of Projects.
