FCPS Montessori Program at Great Falls

Following up on last Friday's announcement that the FCPS Montessori Program will expand to Great Falls Elementary for the 2026-27 school year, we are pleased to share additional details this week.

Eligibility
Montessori Early Childhood incorporates both PreK and Kindergarten students in mixed-age classrooms, utilizing a unique hands-on approach to learning.  

• Eligibility: Children ages 3 through Kindergarten age (age 5 by September 30, 2026). 
• Tuition: A sliding-scale tuition model applies to PreK students in the program.  

Virtual Information Session Registration 
Join us for an introduction to Montessori in FCPS, an overview of this educational approach, a "day in the life" of a Montessori student, and a walkthrough of the lottery process.

• Option 1:  Thursday, March 26 at 12:00 p.m.
• Option 2:  Tuesday, April 7, at 6:00 p.m. 
• Sign up here for a virtual information session. A Zoom link will be provided to registrants in advance of the meetings.

Application Lottery Opening
The Great Falls Montessori lottery application window for the 2026-27 school year opens this Wednesday, March 25.

• How to Apply: The application link, which includes the sliding-scale tuition model for preschool-age students, will be available on the FCPS Montessori website starting on Wednesday, March 25.

Key Reminders

• Initial Window Deadline: Notification of application status for the initial window will be sent by May 1, 2026.
• Rolling Basis: After the initial window, applications will remain open only until available seats are filled.
