Schools and school offices will be closed March 30 to April 3 for Spring Break.
Justice Offices will be closed during the week of Spring Break. Additionally, Justice HS News & Announcements will be on hiatus next week and return Monday, April 6.
Monday, April 6, is a teacher work day and there will be no school for students. We wish our students and teachers a happy and restful Spring Break! See the complete school year calendar.
Seniors be sure to complete your application for needs-based scholarships from the JHSSF by the April 8, 2025 deadline. Last year, JHSSF awarded $310,000 in scholarships to 107 JHS seniors. You may use these scholarships to attend a trade school, community college, or a four-year college or university either in Virginia or out-of-state.
Applicants will have until April 15 to complete the short supplemental applications for the Casey Schulman Foundation, Thurgood Marshall Fund, and Baileys Crossroads Rotary Scholarships. Our community partners awarded an additional $120,000 in scholarships in 2025.

Grab your beach gear and your senior friends and make plans to be at the Justice “All Night Grad Party” on June 8, 10pm - June 9, 4am at Providence REC Center in Falls Church.
Celebrate your Justice High School graduation with one last official party! Enjoy casino games, prizes, a pool dance party, an all-you-can-eat buffet, walleyball, spikeball, and more at this lock-in event!

The Prom Ship is open...and we need donations!
The Wolf Shack is hosting a free Prom shop again this year for students! Please consider donating Prom appropriate clothes, jewelry, shoes and accessories. You can drop donations in the front office of Justice High School (labeled PTSA Wolf Shack). Contact us at wolfshack@justicehsptsa.org with any questions.
Call for Reusable Grocery Shopping Bags
If you have extra reusable shopping bags lying around, The Wolf Shack could use some! Sturdy reusable bags are particularly helpful for our student shoppers. You can drop off in the office - just label any donations "The Wolf Shack." Thank you!
Last week Rustic Love, a philanthropy based in Vienna, delivered one of their largest grants to date to the Justice PTSA-sponsored Wolf Shack! Rustic Love was created in 2020 to support organizations across Northern Virginia that help the food-insecure, including school food pantries and other non-profit organizations that provide support services to those in need. They are well-known for the rustic wooden heart signs they sell with proceeds donated to their grant recipients. The heart is a simple symbol of love and support - an open heart - and represents a desire to help those in need.
Michelle Connors, the Founder and Executive Director of Rustic Love, came to Justice to meet with the Wolf Shack volunteers and school administration, to express her personal support for the resource pantry and to present the grant check and a heart sign in Justice colors.
This significant grant will ensure that the Wolf Shack shelves remain full of critical food staples, toiletries, snacks and other free resources for all Justice students - and, of course, that our new fresh fruit and produce refrigerator can be restocked every week! We thank Rustic Love for the recognition of the difference volunteers, donors, school leadership and community can make in the life of our students and their families. We are incredibly grateful for their support.

February Howl of Honor Ceremony
 Congratulations to our students who were nominated by a teacher/staff member for February's Howl of Honor Award. Staff can nominate any student for going above and beyond in and out of the classroom each month, around our CORE ideals, Community, Opportunity, Rigor, and Empowerment.

Justice Publications Boosters: Thank you for Sending out Student Journalists to NYC!
 WE DID IT! Thanks to our generous Justice community,we achieved our goal - the NYC trip is FULLY funded. Your contributions and support are more appreciated than you can imagine.
Through an online fundraiser, a series of bake sales/concessions stand shifts/restaurant events and direct appeals from everyone involved, the 16 Justice High School student journalists, their teacher sponsors, the JHS Publications Boosters and our amazing community all worked together to raise over $16,500 dollars to fund a life-changing trip to NYC for the prestigious Columbia Scholastic Press Association workshop. All from individual donations (you!) - no large donors or business sponsors. We were even able to raise enough for a Broadway show and a celebratory team dinner in Times Square on the final evening. They will be traveling with student journalists from McLean and Thomas Jefferson High Schools, and will be documenting their trip to share their experiences with everyone.
Our student journalists got the message: their community believes in them and their voices, and values Justice journalism and hard work. Again, thank you for being part of such a supportive community!
