Massachusetts State Auditor Diana DiZoglio will receive a Champion Award next month from the Boston Arts Academy Foundation during the organization’s 10th annual Champion Reception on March 19.

DiZoglio expressed gratitude when she got the news.

"The work done by these students is so unbelievably inspiring to people like me, who, you know, don't get to be around the joy of these students constantly," she said in an Instagram post. "So as soon as I heard that I was gonna have the opportunity to be an honoree and join these amazing students to see their performances and stand alongside of them, and to just witness their growth and achievements. I was absolutely honored and thrilled."

The event will take place at Boston Arts Academy, located at 174 Ipswich Street in Boston.

Organizers say the event recognizes individuals whose leadership and public service reflect the school’s mission of supporting arts education and developing students as “artist-scholars-citizens.”

“This 10-year milestone Champions event is truly special,” Boston Arts Academy Foundation President and CEO Denella Clark said in a statement. “It brings together the celebration of exceptional leadership and civic responsibility with a breathtaking, all-student-led performance that highlights the full range of our students’ talents—from singing and dancing to lighting and production.”

Clark said the event also highlights how arts education helps develop well-rounded students.
