Hey Nah,

You’re here because you love plants.

I’m here because I love plants.

Well then… let’s not waste any time!

Life has taken me on quite the adventure—architecture, accounting, even a stint in the catering biz—but through it all, I’ve always had a fondness for plants.

While others were obsessing over the latest technology or binge-watching Netflix, I was geeking out over soil compositions and leaf variegations.

I’m sure many of you can relate!

These little green buddies are like nature's confetti, sprinkling joy and beauty into our home.

Standing tall, sprawling out, or just casually chilling in their pots, each plant has a different personality that almost plays a character in your home.

Such as the Snake Plant (Sansevieria trifasciata), which is like the James Bond of houseplants - effortlessly stylish and cool, requiring minimal attention.

Or the Spider Plant (Chlorophytum comosumem) which seems to body a carefree hippie vibe, spreading positive energy with its long, arching leaves and (sometimes) easygoing nature.

I like to think that the ZZ Plant (Zanzibar Gem) is the laid-back surfer dude of the plant world, shining with glossy leaves and a low-maintenance attitude (just as long as you don't drown it in water).

The title of the ‘Diva of Houseplants’ surely goes to the Fiddle Leaf Fig (Ficus lyrata), demanding attention with its dramatic presence and glossy leaves.

Whilst the Peace Lily (Spathiphyllum) is like the nurturing caregiver, embodying tranquillity with its elegant white flowers and comforting presence, bringing peace to any space.

Or my personal favourite plant, the Philodendron Birkin. It’s like the trendy fashionista of houseplants, with its pinstripe variegation in the leaves and a chic demeanour, adding a touch of elegance to any space.

(This is her over 2 years ago… we’ve come a long way since then!)

Anyway… having all of these plants is like living in your own personal jungle, minus the mosquitoes and jaguars (I hope).

But it's not just about the looks. Houseplants are like silent workers in your room, too. They're constantly on a mission to boost your mood, and turn your home into a zen paradise.

But here's the thing: even if you're not exactly blessed with a green thumb (more like a black thumb, if we're being honest), there's a houseplant out there for you.

Seriously, they're like the most forgiving roommates ever.

Forget to water them? No problem, they'll forgive you (eventually).

Put them in the wrong spot? They'll adapt and blend into your surroundings.

If you’ve watched any of my videos, I’m sure you can tell that there's something about being surrounded by all that green goodness that just soothes the soul.

It's like meditation, but with… dirt… and… watering cans (I don’t know where I’m going with this)

Anyway, in tomorrow's email, I want to really get into the weeds and talk about some of the common challenges that plant enthusiasts like us face.

Oh, and since you've just joined our family, Nah, I wanted to share something with you.

It’s my online course, “Houseplant SOS”, I designed specifically for people just like you who are interested in improving their plant skills. I’d love for you to check it out here!

See you tomorrow,

Rich
