Let me tell you about three things you're (probably) doing right now that guarantee you'll stay broke forever.
And before you get defensive, just hear me out.
Because I've talked to thousands of people about their money.
And the ones who stay stuck?
They all have these same three habits.
Habit #1: You're Avoiding Learning About Money
You know what's wild?
Most people spend more time researching which Netflix show to watch than they spend learning about money.
You'll scroll TikTok for an hour but you won't read a single article about how credit card interest works.
You'll watch 10 YouTube videos about true crime but zero videos about how to actually budget.
Here's the truth: Managing money is a skill.
Just like cooking, just like driving, just like literally anything else you've ever learned.
But you're treating it like it's some mysterious thing that only rich people understand.
It's not.
You just haven't spent any time learning it.
And I get it...
money feels overwhelming and boring and scary.
But you know what's more scary?
Being 50 years old and still living paycheck to paycheck because you never learned the basics.
Habit #2: You Know What to Do But You're Not Doing It
Okay, so maybe you HAVE learned some stuff.
Maybe you've watched my videos.
(Just mine, right? There's no one else, RIGHT!?)
Maybe you've read some articles.
Maybe you know you should make a budget, track your spending, pay off your debt, build an emergency fund.
Cool.
So why aren't you doing it?
This is where most people get stuck.
They consume content about money.
They feel productive.
They watch every finance video, listen to podcasts, read books.
And then they do absolutely nothing with that information.
Knowledge without action is just entertainment.
You don't need to learn more. You need to DO more.
Open the banking app.
Make the budget.
Set up the automatic transfer.
Cancel the subscription.
Call the credit card company.
Actually DO the thing instead of just reading about doing the thing.
Habit #3: Everyone Around You Is Broke Too
Here's something nobody wants to hear:
If all your friends are broke, you're probably going to stay broke.
Not because your friends are bad people.
But because humans are heavily influenced by the people around them.
If everyone you know overspends, lives paycheck to paycheck, and thinks budgeting is "restrictive"...
Guess what you're going to do?
The same thing.
And I'm not telling you to ditch your loser friend Brian.
However, you need to intentionally surround yourself with people who have better money habits.
Join online communities.
Find a financial accountability partner.
Follow people who talk about money in healthy ways.
Stop exclusively hanging out with people who think being broke is a personality trait.
This doesn't mean dump all your friends.
(Brian can stick around. He has good snacks.)
It means expand your circle to include people who are where you want to be financially.
Here's The Bottom Line
These three habits: avoiding learning, knowing but not doing, and staying in broke circles, are keeping you stuck.
And the good news?
All three are completely fixable.
Start learning about money for 15 minutes a day.
Take one action today based on something you already know.
Find one person (even online) who has better money habits than you and learn from them.
You don't need to fix everything at once.
You just need to stop doing the things that guarantee failure.
