Eagle View Through the Week

12345

Principal's Message

Dear Eagle View Families,

It is hard to believe that February is already behind us and we are beginning to see glimpses of spring. The warmer days this week have been such a gift. There was so much joy watching our students finally enjoy outdoor recess again. Hearing laughter across the playground is always a reminder of how special our Eagle View community is.

March brings a full and exciting calendar to Eagle View!  We are looking forward to the Book Fair from March 6 through March 13. This is always a favorite event for students and a wonderful way to grow home libraries while supporting our school.

We are also thrilled to invite families to our 4th Annual Music and Arts Night. This evening is a celebration of our students’ creativity and talent. From musical performances to visual art displays, it is truly one of the highlights of our year. We hope you will join us to celebrate our young artists and performers.  To support our 6th-grade End of the Year celebration, there will be food available for purchase during Music and Arts Night. Families will be able to purchase pizza, hamburgers, hot dogs, snacks, and drinks. Thank you in advance for supporting our 6th graders as they prepare for this important milestone.

Looking ahead, we will also have Spring Pictures and Coffee with the Principal on March 18. I always appreciate the opportunity to connect with families, share updates, and hear your thoughts. I hope you can join us.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support. We are looking forward to a wonderful month ahead at Eagle View.

Sincerely,

KJ An

Principal

The Book Fair opens at 5:00 PM on March 6, 2026, in the Eagle View Library. Please see the schedule above for Book Fair hours.

Community Conversations: Share Your Thoughts With Dr. Reid

As a listening leader, connecting with community members across our school division is critical to FCPS Superintendent Dr. Michelle Reid. Her Community Conversations are opportunities for you to share your thoughts and ask questions. Events will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. (unless otherwise noted) on:

Child care and interpretation services will be provided. Events are open to all. Visit the superintendent’s engagement page for the most up-to-date information.

Celebrating the Power of School Breakfast

Multiple studies show that school breakfast is important in supporting overall student health by improving students’ diets and combating food insecurity. Also, students who eat school breakfast consume more fruit and fiber than their peers.

This National School Breakfast Week, FCPS Food and Nutrition Services reminds families that they are dedicated to providing flavorful, healthy, sustainable, and student-focused meals. New menu items have been launched this year based on student feedback.

Pre-K and Early Head Start Programs

pre-K

FCPS Pre-K and Early Head Start programs provide a high-quality early learning experience for qualifying children with economic and educational risk factors, ages 6 weeks to 4 years, living in Fairfax County.

  • Pre-K prioritizes 4-year-old applicants but also accepts applications for children who will be 3 years old by September 30 of the same year.
  • Early Head Start is located at three elementary schools — Clearview, Crestwood, and Dogwood — and accepts applications from pregnancy to 2 years old.

Families are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. Space is limited and provided based on need, not on a first-come, first-served basis.

Applications are accepted online, by email, by mail, or in person at the program office at 7423 Camp Alger Avenue, Falls Church, Virginia 22042.

If you have a question about the application process or status, please call 703-208-7900 (English) or 703-208-7901 (Spanish).

We are seeking a Male Muslim Adult Volunteer!

As we prepare for Ramadan, we are working to thoughtfully support our students who observe this important month. In an effort to honor their religious practice while also maintaining a structured school day, we are seeking a male Muslim adult volunteer to lead student prayer time at Eagle View during Ramadan.

There will always be two Eagle View staff members present to supervise and ensure student safety. Having a designated prayer leader will help provide appropriate guidance for students and allow us to organize prayer in a way that minimizes time away from instruction while still respecting this meaningful observance.

If you are interested or know someone who may be willing to serve in this role, please sign  up in this Sign Up Genius link, or please contact Ms. Fahel in the main office. We appreciate your partnership in supporting our students and their faith traditions.
