This week, we celebrate Inclusion Revolution. It is one of my favorite weeks of the year because it truly reflects who we are as a community. At Annandale, we find strength in our diversity and this week celebrates our commitment to creating a culture where everyone belongs.
Each day, students and staff will have the opportunity to show their school spirit while reinforcing the importance of inclusion. On Monday, Shine Bright Together, we invite everyone to wear bright colors to highlight the idea that when we come together, we shine even brighter. Tuesday is Team Up for Inclusion. Students and staff can wear their favorite team jersey to demonstrate that no one sits on the sidelines at Annandale. Wednesday is Generations Day. Dress from a favorite decade to celebrate the many perspectives and experiences that strengthen our school community. Thursday is Proud to Be Me. Wear something that represents a passion, talent, culture, or interest that makes you feel confident and proud. On Friday, we will be United in Black. Wearing black symbolizes our unity and our commitment to standing together as one school community.
As always, we will wrap up the week with our annual FanQuest Pep Rally. For those new to Annandale, FanQuest is a special event that promotes inclusion and support for students with disabilities. Following a regular bell schedule, students will come together during W4 to cheer on our Special Olympics basketball team as they face off against the Centreville Wildcats in a true game day atmosphere. It is always one of the most meaningful moments of the year and a powerful reminder of what it means to be United as Atom Nation. Check out this video to experience the energy, excitement, and school spirit that makes this event so special each year!
As always, have a great week Atom Nation and reach out with any questions.
