Find out if this is right for you

Hey a,

After sharing those stories of Paul and Craig yesterday, I've received quite a few messages asking similar questions about our coaching and mentorship program.

So let me be clear: This isn't for everyone.

And I'd rather be honest with you about that upfront than try to convince you otherwise.

When I first considered getting a coach myself years ago, I had all kinds of doubts and questions running through my head:

"Do I really need this?"

"Can't I figure this out on my own?"

"Is it worth the investment?"

These are normal questions. They show you're thinking critically about what you want to get out of life.

So today, I want to share some honest thoughts about who our coaching is for, who it's not for, and address some of the questions you might be asking yourself right now.

"My time with music is already limited. Won't this program require even more hours?"

This one hits close to home. Most of our members have demanding jobs, families, and other commitments. Many have just 5-10 hours per week for music.

Here's the reality: If you're short on time, you can't afford to waste it randomly messing around, not getting anywhere.

Craig (the modular synth enthusiast I mentioned yesterday) has a demanding full-time job but now manages to release regularly at a high level of quality.

Adrien, another member of our program, is constantly traveling for work. Martijn and his wife just welcomed their third child. Alex took over a family business with hundreds of employees while also taking care of his kids.

If they can do it, you can do it.

Whether you're a student, work a full-time job, have a family, or have any other commitments: If music really means something to you, you can and will make the time for it.

We have designed the program to save you time by making you more effective in every session.

Even better: We customize the pacing of the program for every artist. Some prefer weekly sessions, others bi-weekly, and some need even more space and flexibility.

As long as you're committed, we can make it happen with your schedule.

"Can't I just figure this out on my own?"

Of course you can. Many producers do eventually figure things out through years of trial and error.

But here's what I've observed after working with hundreds of artists: There's a massive difference between eventually getting there and getting there efficiently.

Most of us spend years watching tutorials with conflicting advice, reading forums thinking those who post a lot must be pros (bad mistake!), and experimenting with different approaches.

Looking back, about 80% of that time was probably wasted and with personalized help, you'd be much further already.

Most of our members tried the solo route for years before joining us. What they consistently tell me is that the frameworks and personalized feedback gave them clarity they couldn't find on their own – not because they weren't capable, but because they were too close to their own work to see the patterns holding them back.

It's like trying to see your own blind spots while driving. Sometimes you need a second pair of eyes (or ears in this case).

"Do you even work with my genre?"

This is a question I take seriously, because if we're not the right fit, I'd rather tell you upfront than waste your time.

Here's where we stand on genres: We exclusively work with electronic music producers.

Within that realm, our current and past members span across Techno (from hypnotic to hard), House, Trance, Psytrance, DnB, UK Garage, Color Bass, EDM, Ambient and Electronica.

The principles I've been sharing with you (like the Creative Funnel and Jigsaw Method) are genre-agnostic within the electronic music world. They're based on fundamentals that work whether you're crafting atmospheric techno or energetic bass music.

"Is it important what DAW I use?"

Your specific software doesn't matter. Our methods focus on first principles that apply universally. Our members use Ableton Live, FL Studio, Bitwig, Cubase, Logic Pro, Studio One – literally every major DAW on the market.

We focus on the thinking behind the production, not which button to press in which program.

The same is true for your other equipment. We'll work with whatever you have and we're more than happy to consult you on gear purchases if you want to take the next steps.

"Maybe I should wait until I have more tracks/ experience?"

Skill level is an important point so I'll share who this is for: We only work with producers who are past the absolute beginner stage. This means you should be able to use your DAW at a basic level and produce loops or rough song sketches.

Some of our members hadn't released a single track when they started with us, while others were already at a semi-pro level. These more advanced producers often come to us to bridge that crucial "last 20%" quality gap separating them from their production idols.

The common thread isn't genre, software, or even current skill level – it's the desire to establish a reliable system for finishing music consistently at a quality you're proud of.

During our discovery call, we'll look at your situation together and I'll honestly tell you whether or not I think this is right for you.

"Isn't 1:1 coaching a significant investment?"

Yes, it is. I won't pretend otherwise.

You'll have 24 true 1:1 sessions plus lifetime access to the accompanying online course, our private community, and weekly group calls with me personally.

This is an entire system designed to help you make meaningful progress in the shortest amount of time.

But the real question worth asking is this: What's the cost of NOT getting the guidance you need?

Let's be real about what you're already investing:

  • Money on plugins and equipment that won't fix underlying workflow issues
  • Countless hours watching tutorials that don't address your specific challenges
  • Years of frustration which is time you'll never get back
  • The emotional cost of not living up to your full potential

When I'm facing these crucial decisions, I always remind myself that we can always get back money but we can never get back time.

Now let me be honest about who our coaching program is NOT for.

Our program probably isn't right for you if:

  • You're only dreaming of making more music but aren't willing to dedicate time, energy, and other resources to it
  • You're unwilling to question your current approach (even when it's not working) and aren't open to constructive criticism and honest feedback
  • You're primarily looking for little hacks and mixing tricks rather than a complete production system

I myself and all the coaches on our team believe in honesty, not false encouragement. Our goal isn't to make you feel good in the moment, but to help you create music you're genuinely proud of in the long run.

Here's what our coaching actually looks like

If you're considering this program, you probably want to know what it actually entails:

  • After you've joined the program, we define a clear coaching goal you'd be proud of achieving. This is typically a number of high-quality, release-ready tracks.
  • We'll then work with you for 24 true 1:1 sessions to achieve this goal together.
  • These sessions are a mixture of detailed feedback on your productions and specific deep dives into production areas that need improvement.
  • You'll get lifetime access to our on-demand Prolific Producer video course that will help you install and customize our entire system with all the frameworks I've shared (SCIs, Jigsaw Method, 80/20 Mixing, etc.).
  • I'll give you lifetime access to our private community where you can get feedback, ask questions, and collaborate with like-minded artists (on a distraction-free, super clean platform).
  • On top of that, you'll be invited to weekly Q&A sessions with me where you can ask any question and I'll personally help you.

The program typically runs for 6-12 months, depending on how long it takes you to complete the 1:1 sessions.

By the way: Many of our members decide to continue working with us even after they've finished the program because they simply enjoy having a creative sparring partner.

So: Is this right for you?

Only you can answer that question.

The best way to find out is to have an honest conversation about your specific goals, obstacles and get answers to all your remaining questions. So I invite you to book your free 60-minute discovery call here and we'll help you find out whether this is right for you.

If we're a good fit, we'll offer you a slot in the program. If not, no worries, we'll help you find out what's best for you and point you to other helpful resources.

Your music matters. Let's make it count.

Philip

PS: Most producers we work with tried to duct-tape their creative process for years before finally looking for help. The most common thing I hear is: "I can't believe how much time I wasted trying to figure this out by myself." If you've been struggling with the same challenges for months or years, here's the link to book a call, no strings attached.

PPS: Hear it from some of the artists we've worked with. They describe their challenges as well as their results.
