We also continue to follow the latest in the deadly shooting at an ice rink in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, including the past of the suspected shooter. ‘Nobody deserved it': Friends, community mourn victims of Pawtucket shooting

A high school hockey game meant to celebrate Senior Day erupted into chaos Monday night when gunfire tore through Dennis Lynch Arena in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, killing Rhonda and Aidan Dorgan and injuring several others.

Authorities identified the victims as the suspect’s ex-wife and adult son on Tuesday.

As the community struggles to process the tragedy, a good Samaritan who intervened is sharing what he saw in the moments the shooting began.

Documents shed light on past of suspected Pawtucket shooter

Criminal records and a divorce case the NBC10 Investigators reviewed reveal domestic violence allegations involving suspected Pawtucket, Rhode Island, hockey game shooter Robert Dorgan, whom authorities said also went by Roberta Esposito.

The documents show the source of the conflict was tied to Dorgan’s changing gender identity in early 2020.

“(Dorgan) loved motorcycles and loved working out,” said Kimberley, a friend who only knew Dorgan as Roberta when the two met in the Jacksonville area about six years ago.

Brookline police report outlines murder of MIT professor

Two months after the murder of an MIT physics professor outside his home in Brookline, Massachusetts, a police report reveals the victim’s daughter almost came face-to-face with her father’s killer.

Nuno Loureiro’s daughter told investigators she went toward the door after hearing the doorbell ring, but her dad called her back so he could answer the door instead. When he opened it, he was shot multiple times.

Six gun casings were recovered by investigators in the foyer.

FIFA flap: Foxborough mulls license for World Cup games over security funds

Matches scheduled for the 2026 FIFA World Cup at Gillette Stadium are now in jeopardy as town officials delay issuing a required entertainment license over unanswered questions about who will pay for security.

The select board in Foxboro, Massachusetts, said it needs $7.8 million to cover public safety costs during the 39 days of the tournament, which begins in four months.

Select Board Chair Bill Yukna said town leaders are still seeking clarity.

A New England doctor is keeping the U.S. Nordic combined team ready for action

A New England doctor is hard at work in Italy to ensure Team USA has the best chance possible of bringing home a medal.

Already at Milan Cortina 2026, we’ve seen athletes pushing their bodies to the limit. Lindsey Vonn competed with a torn ACL. Jessie Diggins crossed the finish line with a bruised rib and muscle tear.

“You have to accept what they are willing to do and are going to do is different than maybe the decisions you and I might make in our everyday life,” said Dr. Christopher Couture.
