Matomo - The accurate ethical web analytics platform
UPDATE
Matomo 5.7.0 is now available, including the latest patch release 5.7.1 with security and stability improvements. If you’re running Matomo on-premise, we recommend keeping your instance up to date to benefit from the latest enhancements and protections.

This release focuses on improving the overall stability, reliability, and day-to-day usability of the platform.
One highlight: you can now reorder reports in Scheduled Reports using drag and drop. A small change that saves real time when you manage multiple reports for your team.

We've also improved archiving robustness, period selection, and reduced unnecessary error logging across the platform.

More features are in the works for upcoming releases, with some useful insights about AI. Stay tuned!

NEW GUIDE

Your Matomo Security Checklist

As you've seen above, our updates often include critical security patches. Applying updates as soon as they're available is one of the simplest and most effective steps you can take to protect your instance. But keeping Matomo up to date is just one part of the picture.

We've put together a practical security checklist that covers everything from 2FA and access controls to API token management, file permissions, and database hardening. It's structured by deployment type, so whether you run Matomo Cloud or On-Premise, you'll find the steps that apply to you.
Not technical? No problem. You can download the checklist and forward it to your IT team in one click.
It's designed to be actionable, with clear difficulty levels and direct links to the relevant documentation.

How AI is reshaping web analytics

Your dashboards might be lying to you.

A growing share of website traffic now comes from AI assistants, crawlers, and automated systems. Not from real people. From a server perspective, it all looks the same. From a decision-making perspective, the difference is everything.
If you can't tell which visits are human and which are machines, you risk optimising for noise. In our latest article, we break down how AI is changing what your analytics data actually means, why total sessions are becoming a misleading metric, and how to start measuring what matters: real human traffic.
