As many as 10 skiers were missing after an avalanche in Truckee, California, near Lake Tahoe, authorities said.

An avalanche was reported at about 11:30 a.m. that affected a group of four mountain guides and 12 skiers, according to the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office.

At least six skiers survived the avalanche, the sheriff's office said.
