Pajama Day - Wednesday February 18th

Thank you so much to everyone who has joined the PTA! We have reached our first goal of 40% membership! As a result, there will be a schoolwide pajama day on Wednesday, February 18th

Our next goal is 50% membership! If we are able to reach 50%, all students will get popsicles at school!

Thank you so much for helping us reach the finish line!

2025-2026 PTA Reflections Contest Final Update:

GFES Students Recognized at the County Level!

The GFES PTA would like to congratulate four of our Roadrunners, whose Reflections art contest submissions were recognized at the Fairfax County PTA level. The students, their entry categories, and the awards they received include:

  • Nishka Arya, Dance Choreography, Silver Award of Excellence;
  • Saraa Bagade, Film Production, Bronze Award of Merit;
  • Covington Lukas, Photography, Bronze Award of Merit; and
  • Mario Rosser Castro, Photography, Honorable Mention.

Congratulations, once again, to these outstanding artists, and all those who participated in Reflections this school year! And thank you again to our GFES and community partners (Ms. Murphy, Ms. Stewart, the Morning News Team, as well as judges Ms. Roberts, Mr. McCready, Maria from Luna Art Studio, and Maureen from PaperKite Photography) – we could not have done this without you. We look forward to next year's program!

Book Fair Week - Coming Soon!

Our Scholastic Book Fair will run from February 23-28 in our school library. Here’s the scoop on what to know:

  • E-Wallet: Visit our homepage to set-up your child's eWallet and preview books (and prices!) together. We highly encourage parents to set up eWallets before book fair week so students don't miss out on shopping with their classes.
  • Shopping: Students will shop during their regularly-scheduled Library class time (with a few exceptions), and parents are invited to shop with their child during that time. However, siblings may not be pulled from other classes and parents may not visit classrooms or other parts of the school during their visit. Make-up shopping is available on Friday morning for students who miss their class shopping time.
  • Family Shopping: Bring the whole family and join us for a fun-filled Family Shopping event on Saturday, February 28 from 10am to 12pm. You can also purchase cookies from our school’s Girl Scouts!
  • Volunteering: Any parents interested in helping classes shop can sign up here. All book fair volunteers must be registered in Volunteer FCPS as Level 1 (or higher) volunteers.
  • Books for Teachers: We’ve been grateful for your past generosity with gifting books to our wonderful teachers. Please consider gifting $5 to our Teacher Wishlist Fund so we can once again purchase books for our teachers’ classroom libraries.
