Let’s Help Warm Up FCPS

Warm Up FCPS – Divisionwide Spirit Day
Tired of all the cold weather? Let’s warm up with a little school spirit across the division!
Superintendent Dr. Michelle Reid is encouraging all FCPS students, teachers, and staff to shake the wrinkles out of their brightest outfits and tropical wear to help brighten everyone’s moods on Thursday, February 19.
Ramadan Begins at Sundown on February 17th

Ramadan Mubarak to those in our community who observe! In Islam, Ramadan is the most sacred month of the year. During this month Muslims abstain from food and drink from dawn to sunset each day while striving to increase their spirituality, through prayers, charity, and good deeds.
Dear Parents/Caregivers:
Please complete this Google form if your child will participate in fasting and/or prayer during Ramadan. Parents/caregivers must provide permission for their student(s) to participate in fasting and prayer during Ramadan as this will interrupt their daily schedule. Please complete this form as soon as possible so we can make appropriate accommodations for them. You must complete a different form for each of your children who will participate in fasting and/or prayer.
Students who do not have a completed Ramadan prayer/fasting form will not be permitted to participate during the school day.
*Please Note: Students are expected to maintain appropriate behavior during fasting and prayer. Students who do not follow FCPS' SR&R during this time period will be removed from the prayer/fasting environment. Our goal is to maintain an environment of peace and respect during this sacred time.
Meal Kits for Fasting Students

From February 18 to March 19, students who are fasting during the day can take school meals home. These kits include one breakfast and one lunch to be eaten after the school day ends.
Families must fill out a request form each week for every student who wants a kit. The first deadline is Wednesday, February 11, for the week of February 16. Please note other important details below:
-
Cost: Meals are charged just like a normal school day.
-
Pickup: Students must grab their kits at the end of the school day.
-
Menu: Kits include school meals that are easy to heat at home.
Visit the Food and Nutrition webpage for forms, deadlines, and other information. Please contact the Office of Food and Nutrition Services with any questions at FCPSFNS@fcps.edu or 703-813-4800.

Boundary Explorer Tool Updated With Adopted Boundaries

As a reminder, the School Board recently voted to approve recommended boundary changes as part of FCPS’ comprehensive boundary review. These changes will take effect beginning in the 2026-27 school year, with phasing as specified in Policy 8130. Read the boundary news story.
FCPS will be reaching out to families who will have a new school assignment in the next few days. In the interim, families may enter their home address in the Boundary Explorer Tool to view their new school assignment for the 2026-27 school year or check street address listings by school level: Elementary | Middle | High.
Visit FCPS’ Comprehensive Boundary Review webpage and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) page for more information.
