Patricia "Trish" Caldwell, nee Heraty, 86 of Barrington, IL, formerly of Wheeling, IL, died February 4, 2026. Trish was born on April 27, 1939, in Chicago, IL. She was the youngest of seven children born to Margaret (Hoban) and Patrick Heraty. She attended St. Gregory the Great Parish schools K-12 and then went on to Northern Illinois University in DeKalb IL, where she met her future husband, Jack Caldwell. They married in 1957 and five children quickly followed. After her children got older, she worked at Adlai Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire, IL, for over 30 years. She loved working with teenagers and truly enjoyed her job. After her husband died, Trish moved to The Garlands of Barrington where she was so happy and thrived up until her passing. Our family would like to thank Marlena Solecki who was an angel
helping mom for many years at The Garlands. Trish was the loving mother of Margaret Santi, Catherine Sweet (Jim), Beth Mara (Brad), Jennifer Caldwell (Dimitar), and the late Dan Caldwell. She is survived by her sister-in-law Jill Augustine (the late Bob), her nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Trish was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jack of 60 years, and her siblings Rosemary Jansen (Don), Dolores McCarthy Lindgren (Tim, Patrick), Patrick Heraty (Carol), Peggy Widduck (Lou), Nancy Lindholm (Lowell), and Hubie Heraty. Trish was happy to have reconnected with her dear friends from St. Gregory's and loved the get-togethers with all the generations of her big Irish family. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
