For most of the actors, filmmakers, and other artists gathered at the Beverly Hilton on Tuesday, it had been years or even decades since they’d been called up for a class photo. But the one they took that afternoon wasn’t another awkward image commemorating another year of school. For many of them, this one captured the years of hard work and perseverance they put in to reach a career pinnacle: an Oscar nomination.
