Dear Spartan families,

(*the previous version of this message indicated "PSAT fundraiser." It's actually a SAT practice test and *PTSA* fundraiser. Thank you!)

Our next PTSA meeting is scheduled for February 10th! (February PTSA meeting registration). We'll have another full agenda with Principal's updates from Ms. Matheny and a guest speaker from FCPS Facilities Services and Capital Programs to discuss the recent boundary updates.

Stay tuned for an in-person meeting in March where we'll have officers from the Fairfax County Police Department present their program "Kids' in Today's Society" - a conversation around current trends in social media, narcotics, and mental health concerns in the teen population.

And it may be hard to believe, but the WSHS All Night Grad Party team is looking for 2027 parents who are ready to lead the planning efforts - and especially to coordinate their fundraising efforts through the Jiffy Lube Live concerts this coming summer. Reflections update!

Thank you to everyone who entered the competition and the volunteers who evaluated those submissions! And congratulations to these students!

The winning entries are headed to the next level competition.

The art show to showcase the entries will be Sunday March 8 from 2:30 - 4:00 p.m. in the sports lobby.

There will be a small presentation, time for students to discus their artwork, and snacks!

WSHS PTSA Reflections winners

Princeton Review SAT Practice Test (virtual) and PTSA Fundraiser - February 21, 9am-noon

This will be the 6th year that the PTSA has partnered with the Princeton Review to offer a virtual practice SAT test. This test is not just questions from old tests. The Princeton Review has created their own version of a practice SAT that will mimic the Digital SAT released by College Board in the Spring.

I joined last year / this past spring. Do I need to join again? YES! Our membership year lasts from July 1 - June 30, so if you haven't joined for the current year in the last few weeks, please join for this year!
Why should I join? This is our school. We can keep it a great school by doing our part, or we can hope others do it for us. Be part of the people doing their part, and help support an organization that advocates for our children and schools! See our list of other reasons at https://wshsptsa.net/join/membership/
If I join, will I be asked to do things? You can just pay your dues and not do anything else if you want. Totally up to you. We'll share volunteer opportunities and opportunities for donations to teacher appreciation and other events, but joining doesn't commit you to doing anything else. The most important step is joining. I hear too often "I didn't join because I don't have time to do things." Don't let that stop you. If that's the case, we're happy to just take your financial support-- we'll put it to good use!
