Around the World Heritage Night

We're excited to invite you to a parent interest meeting for our upcoming Heritage Night! Join us on Monday, February 9, at 4:00 p.m. in the library to learn more and help with the planning. We'll be honoring the rich diversity of our community by showcasing traditions, customs, food, games, and activities from around the world. Heritage Night will be held on March 26, from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

School Experience Survey Students in grades 3-6 will participate in the FCPS Student Experience Survey between Monday, February 23, and Friday, February 27.  You can preview the survey and opt your child out, if you choose, at the Student Experience Survey webpage. The electronic opt-out form can also be accessed at this link. All opt-outs must be received by February 13.

Ramadan Observation and Meal Kits

If your student is observing Ramadan during school hours, please fill out this Ramadan Participation Questionnaire so we can coordinate on both a prayer schedule and a lunch alternative location for them, if needed.

From February 18 to March 19, students who are fasting during the day can take school meals home. These kits include one breakfast and one lunch to be eaten after the school day ends.

Families must fill out a request form each week for every student who wants a kit. The first deadline is Wednesday, February 11, for the week of February 16. Please note other important details below:

• Cost: Meals are charged just like a normal school day. 
• Pickup: Students must grab their kits at the end of the school day.
• Menu: Kits include school meals that are easy to heat at home.
