Dear FHS Families and Community,

It has been a joy to welcome our students back to the halls of FHS this week. As we closed out Quarter 2 and the first semester, the energy on campus was palpable. This week was truly about reconnection—seeing our students dive back into their learning, return to the courts and fields for games, and cross the finish line on their culminating semester tasks was paramount.

Excellence in Communication

I am thrilled to share that FHS was recently recognized for our weekly newsletter! We take great pride in using this platform as a vital link between school and home, and we are honored to be noted for our commitment to clear, consistent communication.

Celebrating Culture and Community

February is off to a fantastic start as we kick off Black History Month. Our hallways are adorned with celebratory decor, and students are engaging daily through trivia contests and morning announcements that honor the rich history and contributions of African-American history.

We also took time this week to celebrate our PAWSome School Counseling Team for Counselor Appreciation Week. Their tireless advisement and steady guidance are key to our students' success, and we are so grateful for the heart they bring to their work every day.

On Stage & On the Walls

I had the absolute pleasure of attending the Fairfax Academy production of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. This "Golden Age" hit is a pure delight—it is a toe-tapping, face-smiling experience from start to finish. If you haven’t seen it yet, you’re in luck: shows continue this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday!

Honoring Our Trailblazers

Finally, tonight marks a special milestone for our school as we induct new members into the FHS Hall of Fame. We are excited to recognize these trailblazers whose legacies continue to inspire our current students to reach for their own greatness.

Sharing the LOVE at FHS

As we head into next week, FHS will be all about the LOVE! We have a fantastic lineup of events to keep the positive momentum going:

Spirited Dress-Up Days: Show your school heart by participating in our Valentine-themed spirit days all week long.
Treats for Your "Buddies": Several of our student clubs will be sponsoring treat sales. It’s the perfect opportunity to grab a sweet surprise for your favorite friends and support our campus organizations.
Lunchtime Beats: Our resident DJ will be in the house during lunch periods, playing all your favorite love songs and upbeat hits to keep the vibes high.

Behind every successful student is often a dedicated counselor providing the tools, encouragement, and listening ear they need to thrive. This week, we are taking a moment to recognize our incredible School Counseling Team.

Our counselors wear many hats - academic advisors, career guides, and emotional anchors. Whether they are helping a students navigate courses, activities, post-secondary decisions, or simply providing a safe space for a student to breathe, their impact is felt in every corner of our hallways.
