Principals Message

Dear Lynbrook Families,

We hope you are staying warm and safe after the recent cold snaps and winter storm. We are thankful to be returning to a more normalized school schedule and look forward to welcoming students back for full days of learning.

 Attendance

As I look across my calendar next week, we will be conducting several classrooms celebrating perfect attendance. This is something to be proud of. Being at school every day helps students stay connected to learning, build routines, and feel a strong sense of belonging. Please continue to send your children to school every day when they are healthy and able. Every day truly matters.

 WIDA Testing Next Week

WIDA testing will take place next week for our multilingual learners. A TalkingPoints message has already been sent with specific testing dates. Please encourage your child to get plenty of rest, arrive to school on time, and do their very best. We are proud of their hard work and effort.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support. Together we are building strong habits, celebrating success, and helping every student grow.

Meal Kits for Fasting Students

Meal Kits for Fasting Students

From February 18 to March 19, students who are fasting during the day can take school meals home. These kits include one breakfast and one lunch to be eaten after the school day ends.

Families must fill out a request form each week for every student who wants a kit. The first deadline is Wednesday, February 11, for the week of February 16. Please note other important details below:

  • Cost: Meals are charged just like a normal school day.
  • Pickup: Students must grab their kits at the end of the school day.
  • Menu: Kits include school meals that are easy to heat at home.

Visit the Food and Nutrition webpage for forms, deadlines, and other information. Please contact the Office of Food and Nutrition Services with any questions at FCPSFNS@fcps.edu or 703-813-4800.
