MDM Alert: Potential interruption in service due to funding
Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services

This notification is for all MDM Users and Consumers:

In preparation for an impending government shutdown and program funding gap, the CMS Enterprise Master Data Management (eMDM) system would experience a service interruption effective February 1, 2026.

During this period, the following core functions and data updates would be suspended:

  • File loads (including T-MSIS, USPS address data and QIES) would cease, and provider data would not be updated.
  • The MDM Support email would not be monitored. Ongoing data analytics support and system fixes would be unavailable.
  • Daily monitoring, password rotations, and security patching would be suspended.

This interruption would affect several integrated systems and programs that rely on MDM for provider verification, eligibility and enrollment data, including:

  • Program Integrity: IDR, One PI, TTP-HFPP, FPS, UCM, and OIG tools used for fraud, waste, and abuse investigations.
  • Provider Verification: Verification of NPIs for DOD/DMHRSi, dual enrollment identification for FCHCO/MMCO/DUALS, and provider eligibility and payments for IPAG, CMMI Models and Claims processing.
  • Quality Programs: Data sourcing for CCSQ programs, including QPP, PRS, QIN/QIOs, and the EPCS Program (specifically taxonomy and address data for compliance notices).

All work in progress would be paused until funding is restored. We will provide updates as soon as more information becomes available.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the MDM team at mdmsupport@npss-inc.com and MDMTeam@cms.hhs.gov
