Women exec moves at Walmart, Nike, and more to watch this month


Good morning, MPW Daily readers! Some of you started 2026 by getting big new jobs—it’s past due that we celebrated that. In January’s moves, I see a trend—women tapped for major roles in the nonprofit space. Certainly a category to keep an eye on, while business trends continue to make this a challenging time for women in the workplace and women look outside of corporate America for fulfillment.

A big restructure at Nike means Angela Dong, who leads Greater China and appears on Fortune’s Most Powerful Women Asia list, is leaving. Her successor is Cathy Sparks. Cristin “Crissy” Campbell, will step into Sparks’ role as interim VP/GM of Asia-Pacific Latin America.

DoorDash promoted Shanna Prevé, VP for enterprise sales and business development, to chief revenue officer.

Priceline has two women leaders at the helm as of January, with CEO Brigit Zimmerman‘s tenure officially starting and chief commercial officer Traci Mercer.

Avery Baker, former president and chief brand officer of Tommy Hilfiger, will be Arc’teryx’s first chief brand officer.

Hannah Beals, former CEO of Jen Atkin’s haircare brand Ouai, joined m.ph beauty by Mary Phillips as CEO.

The nonpartisan debate platform Open to Debate has a new CEO, Lia Matthow; Clea Conner stepped down.

Jill Chase was promoted to general partner at Alphabet’s independent growth fund, CapitalG; the fund now has two female general partners.

Lynne Segall is the new publisher of Ankler Media.

Tirana Hassan is the new CEO of Doctors Without Borders; she most recently led Human Rights Watch.

Spencer Stuart named Clare Kennedy its CFO.

Amandine Ohayon is the new CEO of Givenchy.

NCQA added two board directors, Dana Erickson, CEO of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota and Kate McEvoy, executive director of the National Association of Medicaid Directors.

Basketball Hall of Famer Swin Cash is the new president of the Women’s Sports Foundation.

Edible Brands, the company behind Edible Arrangements, promoted Angela Johnson to CMO.

Skincare brand Byoma hired Tara Loftis as global president and chief brand officer.

Wendy Battleson joins Bonhams as SVP, head of business development, US, joining from Bank of America Private Bank.

Cofounder of women’s network Chief Lindsay Kaplan is joining Bullish as a venture partner; the fund is an investor in Warby Parker and Casper, where Kaplan was a founding team member.

Agency SolComms hired Hallie Greenberg as SVP of performance PR.

Archetype AI hired Priya Shivakumar as chief product officer.

Dani Deahl was promoted to VP of creator policy & corporate affairs within Caldecott Music Group.

Cindy Crawford’s Meaningful Beauty tapped Jennifer McDonnell as VP of content strategy.

Index Industry Association has a new board chair, MSCI’s head of index Jana Haines. On the board are FTSE Russell’s CEO Fiona Bassett, S&P Dow Jones Indices’ CEO Catherine Clay, and Amelia Furr, president of Indexes at Morningstar.

Christa Patrylak is the new CMO of AI compay Sparq.

Women in Revenue named Virginia (Ginna) Santy its executive director.

Agentic AI for enterprise company Writer named Mina Alaghband its first chief customer officer.

Restaurant-focused PE fund Savory Fund named Shauna K. Smith managing director.

Madhive named Nicki Harkrider-Probey chief revenue officer and Mindy Buckalew SVP of operations.

J.P. Morgan Wealth Management has named Amy Reback regional director for the Mountain region.

Politico‘s Elizabeth Ralph is joining the newsroom leadership team of the San Francisco Standard as ideas editor to oversee its Opinion section.

Advocacy organization PERIOD. has named Jennifer Herrera as its new executive director.

Harvey’s chief people officer, Katie Burke, is being promoted to COO.

The International Women’s Media Foundation added three new members to its board: Kimberly Adams, host of Marketplace, producer and screenwriter Charmaine DeGraté, and Susan Feeney.

SheerID named Maria Fainshtein VP of product, trust and safety.

Teads announced the appointment of Dani Cushion as CMO.

Jennifer Mnookin, the chancellor of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, is the new president of Columbia University.
